Saved up for new Macbook Pro but getting refurb instead

So what does $650 more for the new Macbook Pro buy over the previous Macbook Pro?

  1. Same processor
  2. Same amount of RAM (albeit slightly faster bus, 1067MHz vs 667MHz)
  3. 50GB more hard drive space
  4. Marginally better graphics performance (9400M vs 8400M, same video memory)
  5. Slightly heavier case (5.5lbs. vs 5.4 lbs.)
  6. Same screen and screen resolution
  7. No Firewire 400
  8. Same size case, roughly
  9. Same battery life
  10. No option for matte screen (important for print work)
  11. No DVI port (replaced with DisplayPort that requires $30 cable for DVI, $100 cable for 30” LCD screen)

Improvements?

  1. One-piece aluminum body
  2. Two-tone case
  3. Larger touchpad
  4. Easier to access hard drive and memory for replacement

Sorry Apple - I’m not going to bite. But thanks for the deal on the older model.
