Daytum

matthewb:

“A home for collecting and communicating your daily data. Begin tracking anything you can count and display the results immediately… or just look around and see what other members are recording.”

Nicholas Felton (aided by Ryan Case) brings the flavour of his annual reports to this web app, currently in private beta. (via Mat Wiseman)

After Nicholas Felton’s last annual report came out, I tried to build a tracker of sorts using Twitter. The idea was that anytime I needed to log a data point, I could simply text or email my Twitter account with a message like “read book +1”. A parser, automated or manual, would later tally the Twitter read on a daily basis. Based the search results for “daytum” at Twitter, it looks like Daytum may be doing something similar.

Daytum already has a “How To” page up. There’s an explanation of the various display panels but very little what’s going on under the hood.
