Hand painted raw canvas ties by Partners & Spade.

I’d prefer the white with blue dots to be reversed but still very nice.

$125

The greatest thing by far is to be a master of metaphor. It is the one thing that cannot be learned from others; it is also a sign of genius, since a good metaphor implies an eye for resemblance.

By one estimate, […] creating Wikipedia took eight years and 100 million hours of work, but that’s only half the number of hours spent in a single week by people playing World of Warcraft.

Perfect little “chef medallion” adhesive labels with custom illustrations text that you can stick to your jars, tins, and gifts from your kitchen. I’m quite fond of the tomatoes on the vine, stone crab, and watermelon slice.

$25, 20 in a pack, 1.25” in diameter.

ClankWorks’ Pinch Stand for bikes is just terrific. Two curved laminated bamboo plates held together by aluminum hardware pinch the rear wheel and hold the bike in place when set down. Lift up and the stand releases the wheel. The width is adjustable so it holds any tire size. So simple. And unlike other metal and rubber bike stands, this one doesn’t look out of place next to your Scandinavian furniture.

$89, available in light bamboo and dark bamboo.

We’re of the school that if you have an idea that you think might work, the answer is not to talk about it for four weeks. The answer is to try it and see what happens. If it goes down in flames, that’s fun too.

Haha, these camera lens bracelets by Photojojo are great. Great detail on the AF/MF switch, focusing marks, and gripping ridges. At the right size, they could also be a nice for additional grip wrapped around a lens.

$10. Available in 50mm and 24-70mm.

The Plumen designer CFL bulbs are a reality and available for sale in the UK and Europe. Back when they were just prototypes, they were already added to the permanent design collection at MoMA and the V&A Museum.

The bulbs were designed by Hulger, the manufacturer of those retro phones for use with cellphones and VOIP.
