Opentape →
nostrich: Opentape is great. Though still very early in development; it reports some track lengths wrong, for instance, but the basic functionality seems to be there. I’ve checked out the settings for Opentape and it’s very true to the original, Muxtape. Going to give it a shot.

To Everyone Entering College This Fall
gregbrown: Tips that I’ve learned: College is a chance to reinvent yourself. Do things you normally wouldn’t and see how it works out. There’s some parts of yourself you can’t change overnight, but there are clever workarounds. Nobody knows or cares about what you did in high-school, so put the letter jacket into storage for the next few years. Have an elevator-pitch about yourself; it...

Daytum →
matthewb: “A home for collecting and communicating your daily data. Begin tracking anything you can count and display the results immediately… or just look around and see what other members are recording.” Nicholas Felton (aided by Ryan Case) brings the flavour of his annual reports to this web app, currently in private beta. (via Mat Wiseman) After Nicholas Felton’s last annual...

"Should I Eat This?" questions on Ask Metafilter →
I love this category of odd questions for morbid reasons. Many of them involve food that have been left out or are past the expiration date. Some highlights: Wheat bread, yellow mustard, fat free mayo, precooked breaded chicken patty, and American cheese sandwich left out in the back of a sedan Black, tar-like honey from a beehive that fell out of a palm tree A bottle of Sam Adams Triple...

WatchWatch
Watch in slow-mo as matthewb’s beautiful Tumblr website gets assembled, one CSS rule at a time. Matthew’s tumblelog still has the best use of post type-specific CSS styling I’ve seen yet. Full details on the process and the homemade JavaScript bookmarklet in his tumblelog. Soundtrack by CSS. Oh so witty. UPDATE: Bonus video of the CSS timelapse for nzmusicmonth.co.nz.
